My basic requirements are transportation, housing, meals and hourly class fees (with minimums). I am fairly flexible as to teaching partners, but I do need to approve of them before plans are finalized. Below I have listed the answers to most questions that come up when setting up a gig. If something doesn't line up (flights on my preferred airline aren't available, housing is a special case, your budget and what's listed below don't match well) please contact me, and we can almost certainly work out a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Promotional Material: Please feel free to use any promotional material from my website (videos, pictures, bio). If you need more/different material that you see on this site, I need to approve it before it's published.
Partners: My main teaching partner is Ariel Goh. After agreeing on a partner, you should deal with them directly regarding their own travel, rates, conditions, etc. I'm happy to work with other people as well, but this needs to be worked out and approved by me in advance.
Transportation: Unless otherwise noted, my flights should be booked to/from SeaTac Airport (SEA) on a Delta or other SkyTeam Member airline flight, using my Delta Miles #9410612692. I must approve any itinerary before it is booked. In the event that I am required to purchase my own tickets, I must be reimbursed before the event. If there are several bookings for me in your area, we can often work out a split in travel expenses between promoters.
Meals: Meals should be provided throughout event, as well as for any days before or after that I need to be in attendance (e.g. if I must arrive or leave on specific days). If there's time for me to grab food, a per diem food budget is also acceptable. I have no dietary restrictions, other than I'm not a fan of hot spicy things.
Lodging: I need a private room with a door that closes. I am happy to share a room with one of my teaching partners, and will likely be fine with other roommate set ups, but I must approve of the set up before the event.
Teaching Rates
Group Classes: $100/hr with a partner (not including partner's rate) or $125/hr alone.
Level Auditions: $50/hr.
Private Lessons: $70/hr for 1-2 people. For each additional person, add $15. Rates vary for private lessons with me and a partner.
Performing: I will participate in any introductory instructor jams for free. I will happily work with you on other performance things as well, but we need to agree to terms before anything is promoted.
Judging: $25/contest
DJing:$25/hour. Don't forget to let me know if you'd like me to DJ so I can make sure to have the appropriate equipment.
Video Reviews: No charge for end of class reviews. If there will be a review DVD or similar sold at the end of the event, I charge a flat $50 fee, and require a copy of the product for myself.
Minimums: Unless otherwise discussed, I have a 6 hour per event minimum.
Payment: My preference is to be paid in USD cash, though I can be flexible on that. If there is a currency exchange fee, the promoter is responsible.
Cancellation: I book out my calendar months in advance. Therefore, once we have agreed upon a date to bring me out I immediately begin turning down other requests for my time. Because of the risk I take on this, I must ask for a cancellation fee of $100 per day that I reserved from my calendar. If you have questions about this policy, or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me.
